Service Description
Poets see the world through different eyes. This class is an introduction to a variety of poetry since 1789. Poets like Wordsworth, Coleridge, Dickinson, Williams, Frost, and Haney will be read and studied. The forms, meters, and rhythms of poetry will be discussed as well as the author's purpose, historical setting, and personal background. We will explore questions like: How is poetry written? Why? How is it different from writing a story? How can one say so much with so few words?
