Service Description
Literature of war has existed since the literary manuscripts were first written. War is a common theme and experience throughout most, if not all, cultures and generations, the outcomes of which are often tragically and beautifully preserved in poetry, short stories, and novels alike. This course will focus on the literature of the American Civil War, WW1 and WW2, The Vietnam War, and The French Revolution. Through poems, short stories, and novels, students will study the history, contexts, and important peoples of these various wars and how they affected literary form of the day.
