Service Description

(Students must be at least 15 years old to take this course.) Dedicated to upperclassmen, this course is designed to introduce students to the literature of the Jewish Holocaust. Some texts, like Anne Frank's diary, were written during the second World War and within concentration camps. Others, like Elie Wiesel's novel Night, were written after liberation. Literature of this content is approached respectfully and taught within the historical context of the early 20th century. Students will study the themes of racism, political and social hierarchy, hope and grief, as well as faith and trauma within the novels, poems, and short stories of the Holocaust.
