Service Description

Children's literature is more than just about easy reading and silly songs. It's about going back to a place we are all familiar with--whether we call that place The Hundred Acre Wood, Narnia, or Wonderland. In this course, students will revisit childhood classics, and study the ways in which children's literature is shaped by the adult world. Who wrote children's literature? Why are there so many animals? Why are fairy stories and adventure stories so common in children's reading? How do the songs work? Must there always be a happy ending? These are only some of the question we will explore in this class.
