How the natural world inspires literature

Service Description
In this class, upperclassmen students will explore how the natural world acts more like a character rather than just setting in poetry and novels. We will read and learn about pastoral poetry (one of the earliest types of literature), how science and mythology from different cultures interact, how the Romantics viewed nature, and why nature persists throughout generations as inspiration for many works of literature. Students will read classic stories and poetry with symbolism and themes that revolve around the natural world. We will learn that the sun often represents royalty, that storms symbolize a character's inner conflict, and how nature always outlives industry. Exploring themes such as Man vs. Nature, Nature vs. Industrialism, and the Beauty of Nature will also be a core part of this class.

Cancellation Policy
For camps, clients may cancel up to ONE WEEK before camp begins and receive a half refund. For tutoring sessions, clients may cancel up to ONE DAY before their appointment to receive a half refund. Cancellations made the day of tutoring appointments will not receive a refund. Cancelation of any course must be made in writing via email to pageturnersorg@gmail.com. If cancelation occurs on or before the 2nd class session of the month, tuition will be waived for that month. Should cancelation occur after the 2nd class session of the month, tuition for that month will still be applied. Thank you for your understanding.
