Service Description
Travel the globe through stories in the Introduction to World Literature course. Students will study the narratives, poems, and songs of people from long ago and far away--from Germany during the Holocaust to Russia’s emotive and political literature, from the fables of the West to adaptations of "Cinderella" across China, Egypt, Greece, and England. World Literature embodies the circulation of a wide variety of texts that have influenced their home country and beyond. Our main goal: to understand that while era and country change, humanity often remains the same. Additionally, we will study how cultures and past perspectives influenced the literary style, content, and form of their relevant era. This course is designed to equip students with the skills to be able to identify specific themes expressed within world literature that point towards events, individuals, and ideas of culture, as well as further develop their reading comprehension and writing level.
